Peggy
Murphy and her partner Hogan are members of
Somerset County's Search and Rescue team.
On the night of
January 23, 2003 Peggy and Hogan received a
frantic call from Julie and Keith, owners of a
little female Jack Russell, Taylor, who ran away
earlier that day. |
Without hesitation Peggy
and Hogan drove up the mountain to begin their search.
This was their first "fur-friend" search. Hogan
lead Peggy all over the area following Taylor's scent
without any problems until the scent of a deceased deer
came into their path.
The following day Taylor
was found not far from their home near a barn and was
happily reunited with her humans.
"The amazing part of all
of this is that Hogan was very close to where Taylor
ended up and I am confident if that deer would not have
been in the path Hogan would have found Taylor." says
Peggy.
On January 31, 2003 Peggy
returned a message we left with Julie and Keith to
contact us as soon as possible. After a half hour
conversation Peggy and her wonderful partner Hogan have
happily accepted our offer to join in our efforts in
Karing for Our Neighbors Animals.
Peggy and Hogan will
volunteer their wonderful services
exclusively to Operation K.O.N.A. on an
"as needed" basis.
Welcome aboard Peggy and
Hogan! We look forward to working together!
