Operation
K.O.N.A. was started by mother-daughter team,
Sandy and Sharon Roberts in March 2001. Sandy
had a dog named Kona, a German Shepherd-Husky
mix, that started to get sick at the age of six
months.
Kona had spinal
meningitis. The Roberts made several trips to
veterinary hospitals, including Ohio State
University where Kona passed away at the age of
3 in January 2001.
|
Together they decided to start something in Kona's honor and due to the high number of stray pets in their area and
a lack of resources to help the pets owners, Operation K.O.N.A. - Karing for Our Neighbors Animals, was born.
Operation K.O.N.A. was created to serve
as a directory of all animals lost or found.
We are a NON-Profit organization to
help people locate their lost pet or locate a lost pet's owner. Within
3 months of first launching this website the
organization
went nationwide with posts from as far
away as California. |

their owners are found. **Donations taken would go towards food, shelter, and vet costs if
necessary. If you are interested in becoming a "hosting home" please refer to
the contact page.
**We have VERY
